We’re proud to share that Elmbrook Medical Arts Center in Brookfield, WI, has been recognized with the Jackson Control Resource Efficiency Award by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). This honor highlights the property’s leadership in carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and water conservation.
Between 2022 and 2023, Elmbrook achieved more than a 10% reduction in both energy and water usage through the integration of smart building technologies and sustainability best practices. This success reflects the dedication of Peggy Attwood, Senior Property Manager, and Terry Sobush, Engineer.
The award was accepted at PropertyCon by Jonathan Mensik, VP of Sustainability Strategy at Remedy, and Nikolas Mirando from Kayne Anderson Real Estate, Remedy’s medical office JV partner, on Thursday, April 24, during the IREM Foundation’s Honoring Sustainability Luncheon. Congratulations to the entire sustainability team on this outstanding achievement!
All applicants for IREM’s 2024 Certified Sustainable Property (CSP) certification were automatically considered for the award. Elmbrook was identified as a Top Performer, and Kayne Anderson submitted the property for consideration in the 2025 Jackson Control Sustainability Awards. This award program highlights the teams of people behind sustainable building performance and encourages knowledge-sharing to help others on their sustainable property journeys.
