The Steadman Clinic

The world-renowned orthopedic practice The Steadman Clinic (TSC) has a multi-year expansion plan to improve access in Colorado to cutting-edge orthopedic care, research, and clinical trials. In 2018, TSC secured an attractive expansion site at the Willits Town Center in Basalt, a mountain town 30 minutes northwest of Aspen. 

Fitting the 65,000 SF facility onto the high-traffic but small site required creative solutions from the Remedy development team. In addition, the Town required the development of a community park adjacent to the new orthopedic/ambulatory surgery center. To fulfill TSC’s vision of a facility that would promote wellness and an active lifestyle, the team designed the park as an outdoor extension of the lobby, creating a seamless transition between indoors and out. The facility features glass curtain walls that bring in natural light and capitalize on the mountain views as well as solar panels on the roof.

Remedy’s flexible platform allowed for a joint-venture ownership structure with The Steadman Clinic physicians and two hospital partners, Aspen Valley Health and Vail Health. The project won the 2021 HREI Insights Award for the Best New Medical Office Building of 50,000 to 99,999 square feet.
